The Los Angeles Lakers started this 3-game east coast road trip on a losing note, dropping a 114-111 decision in overtime to the Miami Heat at the American Airlines Arena in a game that featured 19 ties and an astounding 31 lead changes, making it the most wildly back and forth game played so far this NBA season. Kobe Bryant scored 39 points on 15-28 shooting to lead six Laker players in double figures, but it wasn’t enough to hold off the hot shooting Heat, who were allowed to shoot at a 52.5% clip from the field. The Lakers shot just over 51% from the field, but missed 10 of their 25 free throw attempts while the Heat also got to the FT line 25 times, converting on 21 of theirs – in the end, that may have well been the difference in this game.
