I am a Laker fan from back in the mid-1980s …
The Lakers followed up their big win against the Celtics by losing to the Grizzlies… but Kobe Bryant didn't really seem to care. He went off for 44 points to become the Lakers all-time scoring leader.
On Monday night Kobe Bryant passed Jerry West to become the Lakers' all-time leading scorer in franchise history. Some would say this achievement secures his spot as the greatest Laker to live, while others debate he has yet to do enough.
With his season-high 44 points in L.A.’s 95-93 loss to the Grizzlies on Monday night, Kobe Bryant passed Jerry West as the all-time leading scorer in Lakers’ history. From ESPN.com: “It’s a great honor to say the least [because] of the great players that have played here and the tradition we have,” Bryant said of becoming the

So, is this Kobe vs. Shaq, the remix?
The Los Angeles Lakers found a way to turn what otherwise should've been a couple of glorious and historic franchise milestones into a tremendous bummer of a loss, wasting Kobe's 44 point effort in becoming the franchises all-time scoring leader, in a 95-93 loss to the much improved Memphis Grizzlies. In the process, some dude named Lester Hudson came off the Grizzlies' bench to essentially negate the entire Lakers bench corps in the stupefying loss.
